Look of the Day. "Flying Kite"

I know it's been a while since I posted my Look of the Day.
Between busy summer travel and other outdoor projects not involving computer and my sewing studio, it's been frustrating at times knowing that my readers miss the #fabricproject!
To stay on a positive note, I have finally completed my much-desired #fabricproject No.7!
Remember my inspiration tales of a wonder-of-a-designer 3.1 Phillip Lim  and his gorgeous reference to flying kites?!
After all, it was a super easy shift dress, I completed it in one-and-a-quarter days, and had fun doing it.

And here it is, the much-anticipated Look of the Day!

Let me know your thoughts!

Destination: Marina Bay Sands

Have you ever dreamed of exotic vacation?
Have you ever envisioned your destination--the unknown, the fancy and glamorous??
I dream about such destinations all the time!
A friend recently shared her stunning discovery, and I can't get over it since.
Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Open for business since April 2010, this luxury casino resort has anything (beyond!) imaginable for even most sophisticated traveler. A $6B investment has gone far, featuring the most fearless attractions ever built in human history.
The 55-story hotel towers design was inspired by a deck of cards, according to designer Moshe Safdie. There are 2650 rooms in the towers.

The three towers are connected by a 1 hectare sky terrace on the roof, named Sands Skypark. The SkyPark is home to the world's longest elevated swimming pool with a 146-metre (478 ft) vanishing edge, perched 191 metres above the ground. The SkyPark also boasts rooftop restaurants, nightclubs, lush gardens, hundreds of trees and plants, and a public observatory deck with 360-degree views of the Singapore skyline.

The infinity pool stretches 150 meters, three times the length of an Olympic swimming pool.
Infinity pools are designed to make it seem as though the water extends to the horizon. In reality, the edge of the pool is usually about an inch below the water level. The water therefore spills over the edge into a catchment below, and is then pumped back into the pool. The concept is said to be inspired by rice paddies in Bali, Indonesia.
Marina Bay Sands makes a spectacular travel destination and I hope to reach it soon!

H&M Fall/Winter 2012

I'm amazed by the H&M Fall/Winter 2012 collection infused with glitz and glamour and a dash of sophistication. I absolutely adore smart layering featuring rhinestone-crusted pullovers and accessories (like a baseball cap), asymetrically draped skirts and boxy shorts. The deep shades of moss, taupe and ink suggest the inspiration was drawn from nature, from rainy forests and fall foliage. The digitized prints of northern landscapes paired with chunky necklace make a positively avant-garde statement.
Now let's hope we see it hit the stores.

Ultimate White Party

Sunny days, breezy warm air and blooms of nature are in full swing!
It's the beauty of summer!
Have you ever got a pretty white invitation in your mailbox during those lovely months, gracefully asking "the honor of your presense in WHITE only"? Or so called "white party"?
Of course, you did... and so did I!
To me white has always been such a neutral boring color, until a friend pointed out the power behind it. "You can never go wrong with white, especially textured white, it's the power of clean and crisp"--she said one day.
And I started introducing white in my wardrobe, until I totally fell for it.
So, I thought I'd share my most coveted affordable items for an "Ultimate White Party"!

Men's Color Trends S/S 2013 (Part 2)

Hello friends!
As promised, Part 2 of Men's Color Trends comes your way...
As I further researched runway images for S/S 2013, the rainbow of brights kept popping in front of my eyes.
Mustard and Sapphire became the brightest leaders in this group, while neutrals like Rust, Indigo and Olive (standard mens' shades) dominated the catwalks around the globe.
Now we know what the boys will dress like next year...

Men's Color Trends for S/S 2013 (Part 1)

It's summer 2012, but Menswear runways are busy showing collections for 2013.
Browsing through hundreds of images, and pretending to be a jet setter of fashion capitals, I made mental notes of color trends for the next Spring/Summer season.
It looks like designers have really gravitated towards brighter tones, introducing a much forgotten RED.
Can you imagine your significant other male wearing a blazing red suit?? Fun, isn't it?
Also, since men are tending to be shy wearing brights, of course, the neutrals have been introduced in the form of sanded grays, greens and beiges.
I've prepared a reference color report and excited to share it with you.
Today is Part 1 of the project.

Which is your favorite?
