Hey loves! TGIF!
It's the last weekend before lovely Valentine's day, and we surely need to look gorgeous for a date with that special someone!
While browsing through Net-a-Porter in search of inspiration for my date outfit, I spotted this whimsical belt by Bottega Veneta.
Bottega Veneta Belt with a whopping $540 price tag |

To create a Bottega Veneta inspired belt you will need:
1.Any leather belt (at least 2" wide)
2.1 yd Ribbon (I used 7/8" width)
3.Ruler (better if you use graded version)
4.Fine tip marker
5.Heavy-duty X-acto Precision knife(similar here)
6. Liquid stitch Adhesive (similar here)
Also, you will need heavy duty mat and a lighter.
Mark 2 inches from the last hole. You can use my pattern or draw your own. If you decide to use mine, you can transfer it onto the back side of the belt with the help of carbon paper. Start from the marked area.
Step 2.
Using X-acto knife start cutting the lines, make sure to press hard enough as the leather is normally thick on belts. Cut lines one by one, until all slits are complete.
Step 3.
Unwrap your ribbon, burn the edge with lighter to prevent unraveling. Pull the edge of ribbon through the first slit (from the back) and then continue from top to bottom as shown.
Step 4.
Repeat the same procedure until the last slit and make sure there is a little piece of ribbon left on the inside. Now use Liquid Stitch Adhesive to glue the end of ribbon to belt. Press and hold with your fingers.
Let dry for 1 hour. Now your belt is ready to wear!!
